Overall, our curriculum;
Is broad and balanced; that promotes character and the personal, social, physical, spiritual, moral, and cultural development of our students and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
Inspires students to a commitment to learning which will last a lifetime
Promotes the development of long term knowledge, skills and understanding which can be effectively transferred to new opportunities.
Ensure students develop the cultural capital to successfully engage with a wide variety of social contexts in the wider world around them
Fosters students’ creativity and individuality which promotes students’ achievement well because they are able to pursue their individual interests
Allows students to be confident and successful individuals who are able to live safe, healthy and fulfilling lives regardless of their individual circumstances.

Wider curriculum
As a School of Character, we nurture the whole person, developing students' skills, character and values along their academic learning. Students learn how to learn, how to lead and how to become a global citizen. Extracurricular activities and clubs are another strength - we have around 50 different activities, from karate to Drama, from STEM club to netball, there’s something for everyone.
Careers and work based learning, and work experience at Key Stages 4 and 5, provide links with the local community. Trips, expeditions and international exchanges are a strong feature of life at Ryburn.
