Year 9 and 10 had the honour of meeting Mike Haines OBE, who shared his personal story of his brother's death at the hands of ISIS. Out of this tragedy, he has been able to create something incredibly positive, the Global Acts of Unity campaign, promoting tolerance and understanding to fight against anger and prejudice. It was an incredibly moving morning and the impact that his story and message had on our students was clear.
Parents/Carers of students involved - It would be a great opportunity to discuss with your child their response to Mike's talk and any issues or emotions raised. Students, as ever, remember that your tutors are also there to discuss any issues raised by this if you want.
