Potential Disruption Due to School Strikes

Potential Disruption Due to School Strikes

You may be aware that the National Education Union is planning strike action, which potentially will take place on 1 February, 28 February, 15 and 16 March. The strike action is happening nationally due to a dispute between the unions and the government over teachers’ pay, and not because of any issues at our school or Together Learning Trust.

We want to give you as much notice as possible about possible disruption on these dates. We understand the inconvenience caused to families and appreciate that you will want to know how this will affect your child so that you can plan any alternative childcare arrangements.

We are considering a number of options to deal with reduced staff numbers, hoping to keep the school safely open for as many children as possible. This will depend on how many staff are planning to strike, as the other teaching unions may decide to reballot. We are working closely with our staff union representatives, local authority and the Together Learning Trust team to make arrangements. Please bear with us - we will inform you of our arrangements as soon as possible.

We care very deeply about our fantastic and hardworking staff, who are the people behind the magic at our school. Like them, we are committed to providing a safe environment and fantastic education for all of our students. We understand that the situation is very frustrating for many and ask that all members of our school community continue to treat each other with respect.
