KS3 Camp Week - with a difference!

A week of challenges and adventure to celebrate our creativity, community spirit and the natural world.

If we had to make a list of the things we are most disappointed to miss this year due to COVID-19, Year 7 Camp would be right up there. It’s one of our favourite school events, a chance to get to know our Year 7s outside of the school environment, to challenge ourselves, work as a team and have a brilliant time in the fresh air.

But don’t fear, your don’t have to miss out on the camp experience completely. We’re bringing it to you! Through a series of mini-adventures from damming a stream to designing a campsite, you can enjoy the creativity, community spirit and the natural world of Camp Ryburn, in your very own home.

We hope as many of you as possible will join in with our activities, especially our Talent Show and Friday Night Camp Out/In. We’re inviting Year 8s to join in the fun too.

HOW IT WORKS

There are 18 optional activities for the week, divided into 6 categories: Nature, Water, Sky, Physical, Happy and Kind, Creative.

You can choose the activities that they want to do, there’s something for everyone. For an added challenge, you might want to complete all the activities within one of the categories.

  • Email evidence of pupils’ participation (photos or videos) to KS3CampWeek@ryburn.calderdale.sch.uk and pupils will be entered in to a raffle to win one of four £10 Amazon vouchers!

TALENT SHOW

Entries to be emailed by 10am on Thursday 18 June

Our pupils are so talented and we celebrate that each year on camp - this time will be no different!

Pupils should record a video of them performing their talents and email it to KS3CampWeek@ryburn.calderdale.sch.uk by 10am on Thursday 18 June.

  • There will be a 1st prize (£20 Amazon voucher) and a 2nd prize (£10 Amazon voucher) for each year group.

FRIDAY CAMP OUT/IN

On Friday 19 June we are inviting you all to take part in our Camp Out/In. We’d love a real group effort for this and think it will be a great way to end the week!

If you don’t want to camp outside, you can do it in the comfort of your own home.
