From Monday 25 January, our Free School Meals vouchers will be issued by a different provider as we move under the national scheme. Here are the details you need to know.
The Government have now re-opened the national free school meal voucher scheme that previously operated in the first lockdown last year.
As a result of this Ryburn has decided to move away from Tesco vouchers to those provided by Edenred as part of the national scheme. This change will take place as from Monday 25th January.
The benefits to parents of making this change are
There is a range of supermarkets you can select from to spend your voucher
The national vouchers have a slightly higher standard value of £15 per child per week
Some of the listed supermarkets allow the vouchers to be spent online rather than in store
Vouchers will normally be sent out on a fortnightly basis with a value of £15 per week per child. Only one voucher will be issued covering all children attending Ryburn.
So, if you have 1 child at Ryburn you will receive a voucher for £30 to last the full fortnight.
If you have 2 children at Ryburn the voucher will be for £60 for the fortnight, 3 children £90 etc.
The new style vouchers will still be emailed out to the first priority parent or carer but a different set of steps needs to be followed to be able to activate and use them. Click below for a guide.
The basic steps to be able to use your vouchers are:
You will receive an email containing a 16 digit number (called an e-Code)
Go the web page www.freeschoolmeals.co.uk click on ‘Redeem your e-Code’ and insert the long e-Code number
Select the supermarket you wish to use
Insert the amount you wish to spend
Click on ‘Add to Basket’
Click on ‘Checkout’ and add your email address
This will release an email containing your voucher (called an e-Gift card) which you can then use in store or online (with some of the supermarkets only).
PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IT MAY TAKE UP TO 24 HOURS FOR YOUR e-GIFT CARD TO BE SENT OUT BY EDENRED.
IMPORTANT – If you cannot find the emails for your e-Code or e-Gift card please check all junk / spam / clutter type folders before contacting for help
A general guide for parents can be found via the button below, including links to the instructions and frequently asked questions.
Ryburn is happy to help and advise parents on the basic processes if you have difficulties in using the vouchers but we have no access to the Edenred system to be able to resend vouchers.
Contact with school about free school meal vouchers can be done by emailing finance@rvhschool.co.uk in the first instance.
